Originally from San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, multi-instrumentalist Jorge Mijangos began playing guitar and singing at the young age of five.  His versatility and sensitive playing has led him to perform and record throughout Mexico and parts of the US, including such venues as Salón México, the Getty Museum, The Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the Ford Theater, among others. Jorge plays tres cubano, guitar, harmonica, cajón and other percussion instruments and excels in the jarana and verse of Veracruz. Co-founder of El Son del Pueblo, and member of Conjunto Jardín, Mijangos is also a master luthier, specializing in the craftsmanship of high quality instruments from Veracrúz, such as the jarana and guitarra de son.
